Features

Infovark reduces the amount of information clutter and helps you be more productive. It takes care of mundane information handling tasks so that you can concentrate on what’s important.

Here’s a list of the many ways Infovark tries to help.

If you want to get started straight away, download a free trial.

Infovark monitors and scans your computer files and email. You can tell it which folders it should read in Outlook, and which it should read on your desktop and documents folders. Infovark assigns a special ID to each one of these items so that it can track it as you make changes.

Manager Files

Infovark reads documents and email and attempts to summarize them for you. It also applies keywords that it thinks might be relevant.

Infovark automatically tags items

Infovark does the very best job it can, but you might have to correct it every now and then. You’re much smarter than it is.

When Infovark notices that a file has changed, it takes a new snapshot of the file automatically. It also attempts to get a thumbnail image for the document, so you can easily distinguish your files from one another.

Infovark silently captures version history

Since all the information is on your local computer, Infovark can do this silently and seamlessly, with no need to check in, check out, or upload revisions.

Infovark takes all the information it finds and constructs a personal web site for you. This web site lives on your computer, so you can take it with you anywhere and use it whether you are online or offline.

Each item Infovark gathers — such as email, contacts, meetings, files, or bookmarks — can be tagged and rated. You can also create your own pages from scratch.

You can share these items with your coworkers, if you choose. Since all Infovark items get a unique URL, you can simply send hyperlinks to them. Infovark will keep these items up to date, so (unlike email) they will always see the current version.

Infovark keeps a running list of all activity it knows about and displays it on the home page of your web site. You’ll see page views, edits, searches, and other interesting activities shown here.

We plan many improvements to the home page so that you can track your progress during the day. Infovark gathers a lot of statistics — we plan to turn them into useful graphs and charts. Tell us what kind of information you’d want to see!

You can search the full text of files, email and attachments. Summaries and tags are included as well.

Search your personal website

Search your personal website

You can search from within your Infovark web site, but Infovark also has a Quick Search feature. Just hit CTRL + SPACE and the Infovark Quick search box appears. Type your search into the box, click the enter key, and you’ll be taken directly to the Infovark search results page.

Perform quick searches from your desktop

Infovark tries to link your files and contacts together based on how you interact with them. It considers things like who you emailed, where files are saved, the keywords applied to the item, and how often you read or edit the information.

Infovark doesn’t think about these things like you or I would. It may miss some obvious connections. And some of the relationships it discovers may surprise you!

By default, Infovark keeps everything it knows private. You’ll be able to search Infovark and see the items it collects, but no one else will. To share an item with other people in your organization, you’ll need to make it public.

After you’ve made an item public, anyone in your company can look at it, make comments, add tags or rate the item.

Keep in mind that Infovark is not a complicated animal. Things are either shared or not shared. It won’t grant access to some folks and restrict it to others. We didn’t want to confuse it with all sorts of crazy security rules.

Lots of the features of Infovark will also be available in Outlook. (our outlook integration is currently under development) – here’s a preview:

The Outlook Integration includes a taskpane, a toolbar, and some menu extensions, to allow users to see what’s related in Infovark, to tag and rate items, and to easily publish content directly to your web site without leaving Outlook.

We want to help you get things done. If you have an idea for a new feature or a suggestion regarding an existing feature, we want to hear it! Leave suggestions on our support site.
